I had about $450 in free Amazon credits, so I bought myself something I had been wanting. I don’t have room for big tools, so this should work out pretty well.

started to clean out the car stuff as I am finished playing with them , sorted some bolts for engines , and cleaned under the bench and strtign to make some room . put 3 batteries ( 1 lawn tractor , and 3 vehicle batteries on the charger before putting them away till spring , 2 of them are for drivers and the other ( big truck battery ) is my jump start battery for when the neighbors need it .

today might practice some tig welding , since I haven't tig welded since the mid 90's when I broke my foot and ankle , getting used to the pedal again slowly as for the torch end of it slowly coming back to me .

still working on it ( hey I fell asleep ) , how much stuff can a person collect in 30 years of racing , lots !!!! :wtf:

as for the tig welding ankle will not cooperate so have to scratch start and adjust heat with distance , tried the heat adjustment that goes on the torch handle , my paws are too big and fingers don't work like they used too . except middle one which works perfect .

Cut a patch panel from the donor hood and got it lined up and secured with Clecos. Now have to cut it down to exact shape and weld it in.

It’s been awhile sine I have done much welding, so need to do some practice before attempting to weld in the patch panel.

Not today, but over the weekend...

I installed a z-wave motion detector and a wifi wall switch for the florescent lights in the garage. I was having a problem with the wife and kids leaving for school in the morning and leaving the lights on all day.

I now have automation setup so when you walk into the garage, the lights come on. Then after 5 minute of inactivity, they go back off. The motion detector has a built-in 4 minute reset, so worst case is the light comes on for 9 minutes if you just jump out there to grab something real quick.

Last night I went into the shop long enough to get the shop vac to **** up some water off of the floor after the son watched it overflow (without saying anything).

Put a starter on my Astro. You might think "didn't he just post about putting a starter on his Astro about a month ago?"

You're right, I did. That's all the longer the POS reman starter lasted. I bought a new one this time. Lesson learned.

I am half-planning a 350 swap for this astro, so I didn't want to buy an expensive starter for the old 4.3 (although both engines may use the same starter, I didn't check). Anyway, I had hoped to get at least a year out of the reman. It started failing in the first week. What a joke.

Sharpened my Revo Warden work pocket knife. I'm still amazed at the edges my Edge Pro sharpener can put on a blade. It gets easier/better results each time I use the system.

Well I have a new garage [emoji16]

Replaced the weak lights with one of those powerful LeDs holy smokes it made a huge difference. I still have 12-8ft 6500K lights to add might not be able to see without sunglasses when I’m done

After sorting thru a lot of stuff I don't need, I filled a couple of 5 gal buckets with old hammers, screwdrivers, hacksaws, wrenches, mechanics creeper, some old tool and file boxes and various other things from the garage/shop.

Also the wife went thru the house and clothes closets and put together a nice pile of stuff.

It all goes to a local charity thrift store tomorrow that resells donated items to keep their food pantry full and free to the needy.

We'll buy stuff from their thrift store whenever we find something we collect or could use.

Been wanting to get my drill press off the floor and better storage for day to day tools.

So off to the local tool store for a side cabinet that color matches my other toolboxes.

Made an angle iron mobile base that will get levelling feet too.

Top drawers already got drill bits and lower ones get gloves.

Now to cut down the column 4-6” so it fits a couple feet over under the cupboard.

I finally finished the new workbench and got all the bikes hung up on the wall. Getting the bikes up off the floor opened up so much space with the way I have everything setup. The door swings open to the right and the bikes fit perfectly behind it.

By making the workbench two different depths, I was able to extend it all the way to the overhead door and use that area for helmets and the grinder which before was stuffed under the old workbench and would get dragged out as needed.

Lastly, I got rid of the KRL and moved into a smaller box (depth wise) which freed up more floor space and oddly enough, seems have more space.

The first two photos are from various states before today. The last three are where things stand now.

Repaired our Delonghi full automatic coffee machine. It did over 18000 cups before it began to make noises and pump pressure became low. Wife wanted to throw away and buy a new one at € 750,-.
Did some investigation and bought a new pump and water solenoid for € 45,- incl. shipping. After one hour of fitting it runs like new again....
Happy enjoying a cup of coffee now ;-)

One of the first nice days here so swapped on the summer wheels/tires on both cars and put the big injectors in my daily driver.

I'm sure we'll get an ice storm next week instead of rain and 40's like they're predicting...

Finally found my pop up tie downs from the last truck. They didn't quite fit the new truck right, so I modified the truck to make them work. Ended the say grilling a steak outside the garage door. 35f72b03d0e0a930c2d64250987ea13c.jpg15b5b794634662306243c747add6827d.jpg

I worked on replacing rusted leaf spring shackles and hangers on my truck. I got all of the old rusty stuff off but didn't have time to finish installing the new parts.

Topped off fluids in the vehicles as needed, refilled the spare camp fuel station for camping, and generally put stuff away. May work on the fourth iteration of one of my Franken lanterns next

I retrieved the Racing Green Mini from the local dealer where it had been in a car show since Thursday, and put it back in my garage!

My buddy drove it home for me and I followed him - it's always a good idea to follow behind your own car once in a while - based on the occasional blue smoke I saw out the tailpipe. in my case I learned mine needs at least new valve stem seals - or maybe a complete valve job - and at worst a rebuild!

moved in my "new to me" Unisaw into my "new to me" shop and built an out feed table.....so it begins, again.

We bought this place in December.
Sadly, we had to lease the outbuildings to the seller until his new cabinet shop was complete. It's been a long wait.

It's nice to (almost) have a shop again.

P.S. The Port-O-Potty is now gone

Bull Ring makes great tie downs and their customer service is second to none.

Ground the dings and dents away on the faces of this old body hammer. Belt grinder made this pretty quick and easy.

Also working on fixing the damage on these inner fender panels.

Well, we bought it new mid 2013.. ;-) Seems like some friends lik our coffee also..
Machine runs like on the first day again or even better. Very light lubing of the normal dry running gears etc. made it even more quiet than it was new as far as I can recall.

After being dragged around furniture shopping on Saturday, I got to hit the garage all day Sunday. Time for spring maintenance before the season. New header gaskets, I used the remflex ones on recommendation. Never again, no end bolt slots. Other than that just an oil change, chassis lube, check and clean everything underneath. Gonna try to finish up today and get it out for a ride tonight.

Still tripping on a garage full of junk related to the kitchen renovation...

...and I am getting too old to crawl under a car lol
