Did some work if the second garage, (formal known as 'storage', soon to be 'woodshop').

Built a tablesaw workbench....

Then built a stand for the planer...

Decided to try out some 'french cleats'... I had a bunch of old cabinet doors left over from someone elses remodel. Really nice plywood.
Chopped them up...

0424221131.jpg

Lined them up...

Ta Da!

Now to figure out what to put up there....

Finished up the little "resto" on my shop's door greeter this weekend. 1f601.png This M38A2 practice bomb has been in the family since the '50's, when my uncle bought it as a joke. These bombs were filled with 80lbs of sand and a large black powder spotting charge and utilized for bombing practice in WWII.

Restoring it not only added a little character to the shop, it led me to learn a couple of family stories that I had not heard before...my favorite kind of shop project. 1f642.png

Unpacked the 100 Amp alternator that arrived Saturday, found it to be exactly as described and what I ordered. Through away into the recycle bin the box it came in. Also got rid of some plastic rain gutter. Moved another project back into the “maybe” pile.
As soon as the engine arrives I can start fitting the pieces of my generator together. Without a plan I will be using CAD, Cardboard Assisted Design when I learn what the engine footprint will be.

Saturday I broke some things smashed my hand and bumped my head a few times, but I did manage to get some stuff accomplished! I moved a bunch of stuff from my main shop into my new rented storage garage behind my house. This place is a great addition! The only real issue is the door size. It makes getting things in and out tricky. Now my driveway is much cleaner and I have less junk in my workspace! Winning

My eye keeps going to the C model Ford in the background......................................I worked on a fleet of them from the late 70's to the early 2000's compared to what is on the market today those were easy to keep running everyday..............................

Managed to access the BMW's Light control module and turn off the bulb warning, still has DRL though. Gonna have to go deeper it seems....

Also replaced the shaft for the vertical steering wheel adjust motor, now that works.

Last night? I swapped the new mower blades on and installed the deck and mowed the lawn. Then drank a couple beers while bs-ing with my buddy who stopped by. Watched the storm roll in, swept the floor, put away tools, sorted parts.

Not in my garage, but in the location my new garage will be.....I had to take down a medium sized oak tree. A full day of cutting and bucking and part of the next day cleaning up the small branches and leaves.
Then went in to town to hit the brewery for some back pain "medicine"

Rear brake pads and rotors on our daughter's (still ours though) 2011 Rav4. And inspected the damage that it came home with from college. Can't win for trying with these kids and the cars...sigh.

Got a bit more clean up/moving **** around. It's a bit like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic, but did gain maybe 3sqft. Moved my welding box to the other side of the Camaro, put my MM210 where the welding box originally was. SyncroWave is about where it was before, but at an angle.

20220510_152320.jpg

May swap the Seville box & the welding box around as the bigger Seville is a LOT easier to move to get to the shelves behind it than the welding box (which has a beater bag on top that contains at least 220lb of lead shot.)

20220510_152326.jpg

I'm going to put up a couple of hooks so I can put the car ramps on the back wall. I'm also going to move the drill press over to the middle of my workbench. That will allow me to build some shelves to go up the wall on the right side of the bench & along about 2ft under the window. Need to buy some plywood for that project later this week.

12in sander & buffer/deburrer don't live on the bench.

Found a bit more motivation....

Sorted! (apart from the pile of **** on the floor in front of the Hammerhead toolbox) The rest of the cans & masking tape etc on the Seville went on the shelves. Gerstner is staying where it is. At least now I can access the shelf above the welding box.
There was also a sort out of all the stuff on the shelf behind the Gerstner, two metal boxes went down a shelf & most of my Dewalt cases are accessible to the right of the Gerstner. Helmet (spare) in now on the Seville, not on a bag of lead (it was just there for a couple of minutes while I cleared the top of the Seville)

Wow, your really packed in there!

Added these 'lift casters' to my planer bench. I think they might be my new favorite thing. I have them on my tablesaw bench already.

0510221157.jpg

Also added a 'floor/shelf' to my tablesaw workbench to hold the shopvac and dust cyclone, that way it can move with the table when I deploy aforementioned castors...

Other than that cleaning/organizing and yard work.

Went from a 20x50 garage to a 24x27...

Ouch.... I went from basically nothing (driveway) to 1800' combined (including parking) to 2400' auto shop + 900' woodworking shop + 500' parking garage + 600' toy parking garage + 500' yardworking shed. Plus a 120 year old 2000' barn, 900' shed, and about 150k bushels of silos I don't know what to do with. It's all 70 years old or older, but it's coming around!

Changed the oil and rotated the tires on my truck. Grabbed the Stihl for some yard work and then put the loader bucket on the John Deere after mowing....yesterday.

Today, plan is taking mower deck off and putting backhoe on.

Been slowly working on getting some storage built to hide clutter - mainly all the Christmas stuff stacked in the front corner and the open shelves. Decided to build a workbench / storage area combo along with getting a couple more Gladiator cabinets. It's getting there, but still a ways to go. I need to install a top and sides to the new workbench, buy a new toolbox and a couple other things, but it's starting to look fairly tidy.

Went from this . . .

To this over the past several months. . .

Saw the damn mouse again... looking somewhat fatter while sorting out the space under the workbench.

Made some progress on the clean up. Both ends sorted, still need to do the middle part.

20220511_094601.jpg

Consolidated two crates of autobody stuff into one crate. Now I have an empty crate :)

20220511_092709.jpg

Found a box of 3in roloc sanding discs & a box of 3in roloc Scotchbrite pads. Off to Home Cheapo now for project supplies.

Wired my compressor properly, all conections are now housed in junction boxes and attached to the wall. Also ran a new 220 circuit over to my tire machine so I don't have to cobble together extension cords to use it. All in preperation of plumbing air lines from the compressor to the tire machine and the lift. Hopefully tomorrow will have some progress worth taking a picture off.

Oil change and tire rotation on the Cruze Diesel DD.
Wasted 2 hours with a couple of floor jacks that needed a rebuild over the winter..
I was pretty happy that I remembered how to reset the counter and relearn the TPI without looking it up.
Then I started digging for all the components to open up the pool.

I’m in the process of reconnecting all the oil lines and cross braces after dropping the engine to fix some leaks. Noticed a dent in the oil drain tube and am unsure how to proceed.. currently losing sleep over this one. 9239F8DA-EEBD-4F2C-AA42-049E2D970905.jpeg

We usually ignore little things like that. But, if it's really cranking you, why not put a small pipe expander down it and give it a squeeze?

Completed the design and tack welding of the alternator mount for my current project. Need to weld three short beads and then after smoothing everything up with a Flap Disk the mounting bracket will be ready for paint.

Today was Cardiac Rehab, I am almost finished with the program.

Finished cleaning up my 'camp gear' and repacking it for the next trip. Finally have room to move around again. Of course, the Jeep just threw the p0520 code! Now I have to tear off the upper and lower intakes to either replace the oil pressure sensor or the entire oil cooler if I'm worried about developing a leak from the new sensor. Oh the fun of a Pentastar 3.6! I miss the old 258....

Well not "in" my garage, but right outside the door since the boat doesn't fit "in" it.....but I got about half the starboard side of our "new to us" 20' Grady White compounded out.

Boat overall is in pretty darn nice shape for a '97, but it definitely hadn't been waxed in the past few years  At least all of that oxidation makes the work REALLY rewarding!

Put a new carb on a 40yo Honda tiller. Adjusted it, took it out for test run.

Did a better job and cleaning the parts mower deck (better condition than mine). It does have pitted rust, but I think I’m going to wire wheel it and paint it, as the deck itself is solid.

Project for another time though.
