Let's keep it garage related (nobody wants to hear about your new socks). Okay, here's what Santa brought me.

IR2135QTIMAX (with a protective boot)
10" and 12" Craftsman Adjustable Wrenches
Craftsman Impact socket (the small 6 piece set for removing wheels)
8' of Gladiator track and a lot of different hooks

Plus, I got some money too so I'm off to Sears tomorrow morning. Thinking about more impact sockets, an air hammer, or an air ratchet.

I received the 4 piece Dewalt cordless 18v tool kit: recip saw; 7.5 inch circular saw, hammer drill and flashlight (not really a "tool" by my definition). I'll add the cut off tool later and call it done.

My wife and I agreed before Christmas that this year was simply going to be about spending time with each other. We'd spend our bucks on our sons, (now men), and plan for things for ourselves later on.
#1 Son got a new Ruger 10/22.
#2 Son got a complete Airbrush kit, 3 brushes, compressor, regulator.

Both we shocked.
Made my day.

They gave me a couple of cool books on guns, and a huge driver-bit set for my 19.2 volt kit.

C-man engraver, Popular Mechanics book on doing emergency home repairs, MAPP gas and torch, Sears gift cards.

Gave my dad an electric impact wrench and impact sockets and some real wheel chocks so he can stop using bricks and 2x4's.

My 2 year old got a tool box and play tools.

The best thing I've been given (which I've gone on about already!) is time in my shop - alone! :bounce:The kids and wife stayed at the in-laws for a couple extra days and I came home. Next week, we have the nanny coming to keep the boys busy so I can get a few more days in on my resto and the wife can do her thing. LAst year I did the same and got my engine rebuilt. This year it's the interior.

And don't give me any of that "spending time with the kids before thier gone" stuff! They get more than thier share of Dad's time! :lol_hitti

I had almost two of everything, except a real workbench, so Mama got this for me and it will be added to my collection of really nice garage stuff that is, so far, unused. We moved into our home last year and the garage hasn't been a priority, but look forward to a garage update thread in the near future. I will probably get some "before" pics posted up tomorrow. ALL of you guys give me great inspiration and my New Years Resolution is to get my Garage Game up. Thanks.

Gift cards, nobody buys me tools, I buy what I need when I need them.

Just make sure they get used! I hear ONE-THIRD of all GC's never get used. They get lost, go stale (though now there's more laws against expiry) or just sit around. They are the single most DEVIOUS free-money cash cows ever devised by buisness. One more RIP OFF in this world.

(Tha's not to say I haven't used them - I'm talking generalizations here.)

I use mine, most are for bookstores. I read a lot and I get DVD's usually old classic SF but also some others. I patronize the half-price bookstores for used books and DVD's because I am cheap...

I got a garage (and it just so happens to be attached to my first house)! I'm not one to complain that the market has crashed, it happened at a good time for me.

Same here, except my garage isn't attached!!! I'm glad the market dropped. I got a nice 2800 sq/ft home with a 24x32 detached garage this month!! It was my first home as well. I got it for almost half what it foreclosed on. The garage is insulated, concrete floor is in good shape, I just have to finish mudding the drywall, sand and paint!!! I did go by myself a toolbox the day after Christmas with my gift cards, 26" Craftsman Ball bearing, Griplatch bottom box.

among plenty of other things, i got a Rigid 12" double bevel compound miter saw:
this went on sale at Home Depot for $250 (from $350) before Christmas

i got the Rigid miter saw stand for it as well; not because i am a Rigid aficionado or anything (actually my first Rigid tool), but because this is one hell of a miter saw stand. i have not seen one better designed for portability and sturdiness as this one. it is a ROCK, and at a good price of $160 (goes onsale online only for $99 sometimes). my parents have the previous model of their stand and it has been a gem for them.

i also got a Rigid hand sander which looks to be a stout piece.

i got $130 in gift cards to Home Depot. My 16 month old son got a tool set. And while this set is not for the garage, i will be purchasing the same set of in ceiling speakers for the garage when i start getting it set up.

$50 gift card from Home Depot from my folks. And the kewlest things from my wife.

1. An automatic paper towel dispenser from Sam's. Just like you see in restrooms all over the place. Sam's site and ebay list them for $95. But they were only $54 in our local Sam's club.

http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=149334

2. Helping me finish painting the inside of my garage so I can move my compessor, work bench, and tool chests out of the old, HER NEW, garage into my new garage.

ps - TXST8tj, I have that same Miter saw. I LOVE IT!!! You will too ....

Wife got me a new Snap-On toolbox, the "Classic 96". Okay, not exactly new, it was a local Craig's list find, only two years old, in great shape and cost only 25% of what a new one goes for.
