Having a 24x36 garage built currently. Contractor is doing all the work.

Walls are 2x6 studs 10' tall on top of 1' block stem wall for a ceiling height of 11'. Scissor trusses over where I am putting my lift for higher ceiling in that area.

My garage cost $50 per sq/ft finished inside and out. All I did was write the check. It's 32 x 32.

AHA, another neighbor:beer:

I'm getting closer and closer to a completing my garage by writing checks. Most recent work I had done was running the electric from the house to the shop 2 weeks ago. I told the contractor Id be doing the interior wiring myself. I just called him to make an appt to give me an estimate on doing the interior wiring. :lol_hitti

Contractor built last fall (2017): 40x40x14 enclosed, 2 36x12x12 outside bays, one with concrete floor the other not, attached old 16x27x10 lean-to on back (re-sided, insulated, painted, concrete). 2 14x7' sliding doors on front, 12x11 roll up on side, 2 man doors, 3 windows.

Just under $60K.

Since I'm doing all of the insulating, interior sheeting, and painting its not quite done yet!
Pic: Hanging the front doors - give perspective!

40 x 64 x 14 pole barn with shingles. 1 man door, 2 windows and 1 16x12 garage door was $12K for materials only in 2001.
Slab was $6500 same year.
Everything else has been piecemeal since then, but it's likely ~$50K
Or about 20/ft2

5k- slab, $1500-elec.,240v w/125' run to meter. $6k- lumber, siding, shingle, GD,opener, french door between shop and screened in porch, Italian tile in SIP, window for window unit air, attic access stairs, all trim is in cedar, paint, screen door, vinyl siding, moisture barrier, insulation, everything was bought at !0c on the dollar or less. I use to work for a big box and got everything that was cull, discontinued, clearance, returned. example, if someone returned a half dozen cedar fence pickets because of a knot or split, they would put them in a pile out back until they got a bunch and then sell them as a pallet, I would buy them and rip them to 4" for trim, or just cut the bad part off the end. If you know how to cut you can't tell the diff. I bought a bunch of 2x6 that was bowed and cut it to stud length. Saved me a ton of money. Year started was 2016. I did all the work myself, except for slab and pulling permit for elec. Its still a work in progress, but I would say 90% complete. 12-14k, if I had puchased everything retail it would be around 40k. Size 16x20 and a 8x20 screened in porch for mama. total- 24x20. footprint on house is $99 ft.

3 GARAGE DOORS? Wow, my build is a little bigger than yours and my 16x7 (damn wish it was 16x8) seems like more than enough for doors.

30x40x14 about 45k 2x6 stick frame, roof and walls sheeted inside bottom 8’ sheeted, spray foamed,12x12 &10x10 oh door, steel man door colored tin inside and out. Only contracted concrete pour and spray foam. Insulation under floor and 2 floor drains. Floor heat and forced air recovery. 8x12’ ft enclosed loft. Water plumbed in with tankless heater and full 200a panel. Central Canada prices are through the roof for Canadian lumber. We don’t get the deals you guys do on Canadian lumber. 2 doors on the alley and one (party door) to the backyard.
This is my sons garage and he lives in the city of Milwaukee. Safer to leave all cars in the garage so 3 bays on the alley side.
