FIREWOOD CART !!!!

I have two that are WELL used and went to buy another, nope not available.

They were about half the price of anything else available that I can find and I have used them heavily for ten years with few problems other than the chinese inner tubes.

Going thru my garage reorganization I found these two items in a tool box drawer

The carbide scribe is definitely HF that don't see it on the site no more

And the wire bending jig I am assuming was also HF nothing, but again like it on the site. Though can still find the exact same one with an internet search.

Anyybody ever remember seeing that wire forming tool at HF? :headscrat

Still new have never even used it. It has two holes to screw it down to wood bench.

They used to sell full size lathes, not just the 7"x and 8"x mini lathes.

They used to sell 12x, 9x, & a micro 4x lathe. Also used to sell a benchtop size knee mill (Clausing clone) but I've never seen any of them in the stores around here. The 4x I did see in stores but not anymore & they don't have them on the website anymore either. I wanted to get a 4x just to mess around with.

They used to sell a 13" x 40" Gear Head Gap Bed Metal Lathe.

Not specialty but, does anyone remember when HF sold IR impact guns, SK wrenches, DeWalt drills etc. One of my IR impacts came from there, as well as a DeWalt hammer drill. This was long before there were any stores around here. Probably in the 90's.
Got a DeWalt 4 1/2" angle grinder from HF also.

Ya I got an old flyer here with Milwaukee Super Sawzall kits, Skil 14" Metal chop saw, Campbell Hausfield airless sprayer, Wagner sprayer, Homelight water pump, Eureka up right vacuum cleaners, Porta Rip circular saw guide.

And the MEAT GRINDER :D

Funny because of another GJ thread was just looking online this morning at 500 watt halogen lamp @ HD was $25 and this old flyer has basically the same one was $9.95 then :pimpflash

I have (had?) a HF version of this sheet metal nibbler / shear.

Worked well, blade broke. Can’t get a replacement blade from them any more. I wonder if E sells a blade that would fit.

a spring loaded center punch, with a set of steel dies that screwed on to that punch. in a metal case. i remember i broke it first use. they did send me a replacement. in a time, long ago, before the internets. havent used the replacement one. must be 30 years old. how i never pitched it, ill never know.

The “Lancelot” disc seems to still be available.

Best I can do is a couple screen shots :D

They should enlarge pretty good especially on computer screen

Just have one 2 sided page I found in box of shop manual and parts catalogs got ripped out of something else, a multi page catalog I'm guessing. Why I save I don't know I'm thinking Maybe the PACER water pump. I do have the exact same one with the B&S engine.

Not really super old but I figure it's better than 20 yrs anyhow. That stuff was stashed when I moved to Maine and that was '99

Real old stuff was mostly black print and xeroxed scans on colored pieces of paper :lol_hitti

Just found another...

"Small Parts Cleaning Can"

Was staring me in the face the whole time because its been on the workbench for years :D
But it didn't "click" until I just found the original box under the bench while I was cleaning my garage (had other stuff packed in in it )

The screen has huge coil spring underneath and as you raise the lid the spring pushes your submerged parts up to drain and dry.

To submerge your parts you just push down on the wire rod cage. You can also clip lock the lid closed and leave to soak for a while.

We used to have these types of cleaning cans in electronic factory all thruout the work areas. like this link

I forget what I paid but it could not have nowhere even close to that.

Oh check out the writing on the box

Oh wow I remember my Dad bought one of those back in the 90's. We had a ghastly mix of old chlorinated brakleen, carb cleaner, acetone and that strong-smelling Mopar brand brake cleaner. We'd soak the parts in it and then wash it off over the can, so the rinse spray would replenish whatever dripped out and evaporated. Worked well! I think I still have it at my parent's house.

They used to sell a parallelogram "drivetrain lift" for dropping entire engines and transaxles out of cars

By the time I sold it to pawn HF had discontinued it but they look up everything online to get a reference for value and so they saw the price of the OTC and figured the HF "equivalent" was still pretty valuable. I think they gave me nearly what I paid for it.

A "real" hydraulic cart which, as best I can tell, was meant to compete with Vestil. Rated for about 800# and goes to 52" height

Ya HF they do still offer two different hydraulic "lift carts"...one is a 500# limit and one 1000# rated About a $100 difference in price between the two.

but neither one comes anywhere near a 52" lift height :eyecrazy:

Exactly. These have a double scissor config, this is the present-day Vestil

Don't ask.
The motorcycle attachment for their tire changer wasn't available for quite some time. I see it's back.
Even with modifications I'm not sure it's much of a step up from spoons.

Yeah, I had one of those little wire bending jigs that I'm pretty sure came from HF. Think my grandpa gave it to me for Christmas and it floated around my toolbox for years - but couldn't find it when I actually went to use it for the first time.

I also have a "Swedish pattern" pipe wrench from HF that they don't sell anymore.
