What do I do with this wire?

I used a #6-3 w/grd to wire a 240V safety switch. The white wire is unused at both ends of the run. Do I cut it at the point of entry at the breaker box and switch, or do I leave it with a wire nut and tape, labelled, inside the box?

Leave it, wire nut BOTH ends and fold it back. Never know when things may change and you might need it.

wire nut it but don't strip the end of the wire before screwing the wire nut on.

just encountered a similar situation...6/2 is not overly available its a special order that costs mroe then 6/3....so as they said above cap it ;-)

That's strange, my local Home Depot has plenty of both. I just bought the 6/2 ($2.29 per foot). The 6/3 was $2.99 per foot.
