I’m pretty sure what I have here but would like some expert opinions. It came with a modern day 1/3HP motor and I’d like to find a more era true replacement that might even need rebuilding. I’m starting the rebuild on the press tomorrow…would also like to find a belt guard too.

Thanks in advance for all your help. I’m a newbie here so be gentle

Well you said expert, and I am most definitely not. But….

Bears some resemblance to this old Delta I got out of a family barn. Not sure if that means anything or if the design was just typical for the time.

Serial number on mine is 56-somethingsomething, so it might be a 1956.

Belt guards just get i the way when you change speeds on those. What you really need is an intermediate pulley so you can slow it down enough to drill steel.

That post on the motor mount holds an intermediate pulley, but used ones are not cheap. This one is for sale on ePay for $220 + $20 shipping. I'll bet it gets snatched up soon.

The two horizontal studs on the front pulley cover act as hinges for a belt cover, so it was set up for one.

I'm not sure about the differences in spindle covers between the models, but there are a few of those on ePay too. This one has a cool little oiler on top.

(Tip- make future thread titles more descriptive/less cryptic).

Thanks…I was pretty sure it is Walker-Turner but not sure what series. Everyone is pretty sure a belt guard will just get in the way and I’m in agreement. A correct period motor and intermediate pulley for slower speeds are on my radar.
