I usually just wear old clothes. I have no shortage of worn out Jeans, and holy T shirts ...

Since you don't have that luxury ... might consider some khaki type pants ... they usually move better than Denim, have more pockets, and are cheaper ....

HOLY T-shirts??? Ah, I get it...t-shirts formerly worn by clergy and other men of the cloth! :lol_hitti

I'm usually naked when wenching

Oh, wrenching... Sorry, mind in the wrong place!

Blue jeans from Salvation Army (at under $5 each) and old T-shirts from where ever. Once the pants can't be washed effectively, or are too torn, they become rags. Ditto for the shirts.

I have a couple of pair of old jeans that I keep around for garage duty.
I also have a couple of old shop coats from work that seem to be a good compromise as they are fast to throw on and reasonably protective.
I quit wearing tennis shoes in the garage a long time ago,and now will only wear my work boots steel toe Red Wings. MUCH more comfortable on concrete ,and actually cooler on my feet

I had this picture in my mind of how different we may be... I have one pair of good black jeans if I have to dress up and go to town and most all the rest of my clothes will serve shop duty...

Tend to wear old army surplus gear - cheap and hard wearing.

Got some overalls but they tend to be too tight in the crotch to armpit plane meaning if I reach up I crush the family jewells!:shocking:

Old clothes - generally with holes in them.

My work clothes (business casual) get cycled down to casual/at-home wear when they get too worn for work.

Once the casual clothes start developing holes they get shifted to garage/outdoor wear.

When those get too torn up, I'll cut the decent parts and use them as patches for the holes in my other garage clothes. For instance I have denim patches on several pairs of khakis and black pants. They look funny but no-one sees me in the garage anyway.

When I put them on and they fall apart, they go in the trash.

Goodwill is another great place for cheap clothes. I'd rather trash a $5 pair of jeans in the garage than an $30 pair.

coveralls?, old t shirts, jeans, +/- sweatshirt?

My wife got me a set of coveralls for a gift once, a long time ago.... They fit ok, probably better when i was 20lbs lighter.... 44regular - the arms were never quite long enough.

I'm contemplating a new set. Might go with 46 regular or maybe long (i have long arms, but am only 5'10").

I'd wear old jeans, but need a belt, as my waist size has gone up, and sometimes i can't get them done up. Hence they are the 'old' jeans.

$39.99 is the cheapest i've found coveralls for.

My other options include cheap jeans from walmart? I wonder if i can pick up a heavy denim pair for under $15. I have a bunch of old shirts that i can use on top.

coveralls with old tee shirt and old shorts underneath....i h8t oil and diesel staining near good clothes.

I wear Carhart jeans as work pants, at home. So it's them and a TshirtLS/SS depending on the season. If I'm doing any fab work, I usually throw on a green welding jacket.

Usually a pair of dickies Grafters work trousers and a ratty T-shirt. I have a problem with overalls (coveralls) as I have a very long body and even the extra long ones only tend to have longer arms and legs so I find they shall we say, ahem, Lift and seperate certain parts of my anatomy if I put my arms above my head, not comfortable when working under a car. One day I'll find a set with a longer body, might be easier now I've lost 56lbs over the last year with my target of another 40 or so this year, I'll be able to just buy the biggest pair to get the extra room. I'm 6/3" tall with a 50" chest and did weigh 320lbs at my heaviest, now down to 265.

old t-shirts.

i used to wear my old levi's but the jeans they have been making recently have really thin material that just wears out faster in the garage than i can stain, tear, or otherwise ruin my every-day pairs. i got a pair of wranglers recently that really are heavier than the levi's and cheaper to boot. so those are filling the gaps.

i keep these cloths separate from the rest of my cloths at all times. they have a separate hamper, they get washed separately, and they have a special place in the closet. in college i learned i had to do this or else in a few weeks all my cloths make me look like a hobo.

I have a few sets of "grubbies" for outdoor and garage work. Old jeans or shorts, and old t-shirts and sweatshirts. I even have an old pair of slip-on shoes for the garage, just to I can kick them off when I need to run into the house for something.

I have one sweatshirt that permanently smells like gear oil. They all get washed (twice) by themselves.

Typically it is shorts, tshirt, and a pair of sneakers or flip flops....really depends on what I'm doing.
