Williams does have a line of US made supercombo ratcheting wrenches. Limited sizes though

is it safe to say that the williams ratcheting wrenches with the williams etched in the beam is their taiwan stuff ? supercombo stamped on the beam is the usa stuff ?

never mind i see the explanation above. just another assembled in usa tool

Williams has a metric set too, as well as standard and metric stubbies.

Here is the page from their new catalog (since Snap-on revamped Williams earlier this year and did away with the Snap-on Industrial Tools name.)

As has been said/pointed out in here many times over, I’d rather have assembled in the USA of domestic and foreign components than just straight up foreign made. And the reality is, we live in a global economy now, there are just some things we can’t source domestically or at least not at price that’s economically sustainable.

One thing I gotta 5S is my gear wrench long double combo (flex ratchet x non ratchet fixed) and replace them with the same icon ones that weren't out when I got the gw ones. I'm not really happy with the gw. Feel like grit in there. It'll be my first icon purchase lol.
Does icon offer a flex ratchet x fixed box? I've only seen the double flex ratcheting and double fixed ratchet/box.

is there anything special about these usag/facom reversible ratcheting wrenches or are they just yet another of the many many taiwan variants ? the $200 price almost seems like a dead give away where theyre made but figured i would ask anyways.

Special is in the eye of the user. The USAG wrenches are made in Taiwan. They feature anti slip open ends, and in the boxed end, there is a wire that acts as a capstop preventing the boxed end from slipping past the head of a fastener. However, unlike a capstop flat washer found on some Gearwrench reversible combination ratcheting wrenches, you can push past the spring tension on the wire and use a reverse grip on the wrench if necessary to avoid an obstacle. The ratcheting boxed end features off corner engagement. I like the angle of the open end and the rolled beam edges of the eye beam construction. They aren't long pattern wrenches though. They are also rebranded as MAC and OEM has a similar set with plain open ends.

Set me up on a truck account. Said he didn't mind dealing with a weekend warrior. It was all good.

If I could find a tool truck who’d do that, they would make a boat load of money off of me and a couple of my friends.

I do run across a Snap On truck from time to time parked at the local Thai restaurant we eat at…

Bumping this thread.

Anyone have any experience with Cornwell's bluePOWER Metric Slim Beam Ratcheting Wrench Set (BPRW12SBFMST)? Always wanted a ratcheting wrench with a grip. Wish they were reversible.

I assume these are made by Kabo also? So I assume they're decent quality.

I can pick this set up for $100 and it looks brand new.

I have that set in MATCO trim with orange bands. They have spline ratcheting boxed ends. Made by Kabo as they have the sealed brass screw on the ratcheting boxed end. Their length is probably good enough for 85% of common tasks. The Cornwell site is down right now but, I think that set lists for Under $300.

Last night when I was checking it was $300+

I thought these were regular 12pt box ends?

Either way, I’ll try to pick these up. Seem useful.

I’ve admired those for a while. A dedicated handle is much better than the typical open end wrench on the other side. For $100 I’d be all over it.

If you do pick them up, let us know your thoughts after some usage

Picked them up.

Only the 8mm and 10mm had fingerprints on it (used a couple of times, the guy said) otherwise they all look brand new and untouched. I still tested all the flex heads and ratchet mechanisms out. They're all smooth and quiet except the 18mm which sound like a duck getting stomped on (even though it was smooth pawl feel). I tried negotiating down $10 because of it and it was a no go. We both had a good laugh at my attempt though.

Just brought the home so I haven't actually put them on a fastener but I think I'm going to like the comfort grip on a slim beam ratcheting wrench.
