What do you guys use for tweezers?

Looking to get my own tweezers so I don't keep misplacing them on my dad and so that I know where they are. What's recommended? What's easily available? I'd like some quality ones, my dad has swiss made Rubis that work great. Rubis seem hard to come by through the normal channels however (places like Amazon). I don't want to spend tons on these but I think $100 for 3 to 4 different styles is realistic.

WOW, what are you using them for? The only use I ever had was for splinters, $100 seems steep for that use.

I have a few that are 8-10" long SS, 2 with magnifier connected and 1 with LED inside head. These listed I use on computers, then I have the normal made in USA ones for plinters. Metal splinters I use neo #53^ magnets to remove.

You can find Rubis tweezers on eBay, that's where I got mine. seems they start at $29.99 and go up with a few cheap ones for $9.99. You're right they are great. I use mine to weed out vinyl decals. So I got the ones with the very pointed tips. the tips haven't bent or come out of alignment.

For general use, look in the beauty section of walmart. They have some decent tweezers. Make sure the ends close up correctly, and line up properly.

I almost never need tweezers, but when I do, I just ask my old lady for hers.
Who knows where they came from or what they cost.
I ain't spending ratchet money on tweezers.

My wife is a Professional Make-Up Artist. She uses Dumont (Switzerland) She says are the best.(?) but she also owns Excelta (Swiss/Italy),Lindstrom (Swiss/USA) and MAC (made by Rubis(Swiss)

Harbor freight has a pack with several different kinds in it, i'm sure they're probably cheap stainless models but I just use them in the garage anyway for getting into small places of tooling or whatever i'm working on.

I use tweezers every single day at work & home. I can't imagine not having tweezers. My favorite general purpose tweezers that won't break the bank are Miller/Clauss 231. They're anti magnetic & have great spring to them. Nothing makes me more mad than when you pick up a ferrous metal object & it sticks to the damn tweezers or when the tweezers barely have any spring back to them.

I use mine for rekeying locks. One is a cheap pair with an angled nose, the other is designed specifically for locks, it has an indentation for gripping the pins.

Dumont #5 (straight needle tip) and #7 (bent tip) for me. I don't do enough tiny work to justify a whole set.

Go with Dumont if you want the best.

However if you're on a budget get these. They are made by Regine in Switzerland but branded WeiTus. They are actually decent tweezers.

i have several pair in my box, no idea the brands... mostly used to pull wiggling flies outta wet clearcoat and splinters. do have a really nice pair of hemo's for delicate stuff that dad bought for tying flies...

I have ordered probably 10+ pairs of different kinds from meritline over the years and they have always been very high quality and work really well. I couldn't believe it when I ordered my first few pairs and they were in packaging that was in Chinese but it said they were made in Switzerland.

Look on line at a company like OttoFrei.com that sells to jewelers and watchmakers. They have more tweezers than you can imagine to choose from.

Next car show you go to, check out the tool guy tents. They always have tweezers, forcips & the like. Most have the cheap chinese stuff, but keep looking there will be a guy with Sunex, Dumont, Excelta or other good ones
Also if you come across a model railroad show, they'll have the cheap ones

As would be companies that specialize in the electronics industry (lot of cross-over between these segments).
