Looks like the low speeds are a little high for metal work.

Keep an eye on craigslist for a decent american older DP. For doing any metal drilling of any larger size you want a low speed around 150-200 RPM.

they are not heavy duty but are very versitile if you do lots of angles and long pieces.
would be great of you do wood furnature
