I have been looking at some products but cant decide or see what would work best. I know that you get what you pay for, so the fact that Im not looking to spend a lot means I wont get a perfect result. Anyways, I am looking for a cheaper epoxy or similar finish for our garage. My dad and I built some portable work benches that are on casters and the garage will be used to park one daily driver as well as work on compressors. The rubber mat that is down keeps folding up so I am thinking of doing the epoxy if the price is right. So basically there could be oil spills and portable gas compressors run in the area. What affordable epoxy would you recommend. I saw the quickcrete and rustoleum versions, so are those good or is there another similar priced product thats better. Thanks.

Also its about 440 square ft garage

I recommend not going with the "cheapest" buy something decent, install by manufacturers exact recommendations and you'll be alright.

Remember, cheapest always cost more in the long run.

Good luck!

I don't mean hi-jack your thread but I'm also in the same situation. Looking for a good budget epoxy coating. Looks like there are a lot of different choices when it comes to epoxy.

Gang:
I started my career in the house painting industry over 20 years ago and moved into epoxy coatings 15 years ago. There are several important lessons to be learned. The most meaningful for this thread is:

You will do the same amount of preparation for a cheap gallon of epoxy as you will for the good stuff. The good stuff will far outlast the cheap stuff.

If cost is a limiting factor, prep the floor, install a coat of good primer and then go back to the floor when cash is more readily available. Call Christine at Epoxy-Coat, she may cut you a deal if you agree to post pictures and tell your neighbors.
