My garage won't be completed for another 3 weeks, they just poured the concrete last week and hopefully will start the framing today. Since I have the exact measurements I figured I would start designing my garage so I can have the tiles here when they complete it.

What do you think of my design?

I guess I should explain the garage a little,

The Grey in back will have Gladiator cabinets all the way across, so you'll really only see the red black and yellow, which is the work area in front of the cabinets. The Black checks in the left bay are the checks logo for A MINI Cooper JCW, and the Blue/Purple/Red in the right bay represent the colors in the BMW "M" logo.

My first MINI Cooper is Yellow, and my JCW MINI Cooper is British Racing Green with 2 Yellow Sports stripes down the middle. The BMW 1M will be Black outside with Black Leather and red/orange stitching, we also have a yellow Corvette Convertible. That's why all the yellow :bounce:

having just done a racedeck floor and obsessed about design - I'll offer some things I figured out that helped me - that it for what its worth. Simply put, I decided the best route was to design the floor as if the garage would always be empty. Tool boxes, decorations and even the cars you keep in there can (and likely will) change at some point (for millions of seen and unforeseen reasons). To me, the consistent floor (not worked around the temporary or moveable objects) added a better "base" to the visual impact of the space.

The other thing I found is that a busy design is amplified by all the other colors in the space. My walls contain framed posters and tin signs and the like - but there are MANY colors in all those things - a busy floor multiplies the color effect and it was overload very quickly. I just took the photos off my cabinets because of this reason. You just have to figure there will be dozens and dozens of colors you don't even realize.

I finally decided on a traditional (checkerboard) pattern - I felt it was impactful without being overly complex and busy. Hope this helps.

I plan to upgrade my floor later this year (fall target). As a result, I've designed about 12 or 13 floors on the RaceDeck website.

I agree with the earlier post that you need to design the floor based on it being fully exposed and open. I personally think the OP's original design is too busy. I also agree that secondary colors from wall decorations, car colors, etc. are all going to add to the overall look.

I want the floor to look nice but not too loud. I already have a nice residential-based epoxy, however due to the way the garage is designed, I am only planning to lay a 26' X 19' rectangle that will cover the majority of the width of the floor and parking areas, while leaving the workbench and the home gym area in the garage with only the epoxy.

As a result, I plan to use only 3 colors in my design; black/tan/charcoal as those three colors match the 3 primary colors in the garage due to the tan epoxy and Gladiator cabinets/benches I have installed.

In the end, do what you want, however a lot of good advise has already been passed on.

How much do the motorcycles you get cost? Fixer-uppers?

Its tough because their full spectrum of colours and awesome planning tool does let you do anything that comes to mind. Having said that i personally thing the simpler the better.
I would say either do that T shaped coloring you have OR the "logos" but not both. Either way i'm sure you will enjoy the results. Good luck!

Seriously, it's your space. Have fun with it. It's a bit much for my own tastes, but it can easily be changed (for $). If you plan to sell anytime soon I would go with a more conservative style that would still compliment your (bright) car colors.

Have a color question. I had planned to use black and grafite but thought that screws etc would be hard to find sitting on dark colors. Any thoughts from folks who have more experience then I ?

Little busy for me, but as long as you like it. That's the great thing about race deck, you aren't stuck with that design. Pull it up and change it when and if you get tired of it.

I like the fact that it's a unique design that also incorporates the color for the logos of your cars. I would really like to see pics of this one installed.
