Hey all,

I just picked up the red tool box from harbor freight, the 5 drawer 30 inch box and I am trying to see what the best way to organize sockets is while still saving the most amount of space.

I picked up the 3 piece from harbor freight

http://www.harborfreight.com/3-pc-metric-socket-trayorganizer-68102.html

but I noticed it is missing a whole bunch of spots for my sockets (my set goes up to 22mm in 3/8 for example)

And the 1/2 tray is huge.

I also looked at the metal rails and those lack the measurements

I looked at these, but I dunno if I can fit everything in 1 drawer with the red tool box

I also even looked into the foam fit organizers.

I just can't find anything that covers all my sockets with size labels and frees up space. I might have to make something custom out of wood and dowels.

Gotta search man... There's many ways to store sockets, from: plastic peg organizers (Hansen, HF, kobalt), to metal rails, VIM mag rails, wrestling trays, flat mag socket holders (lisle), upright mag socket holders, etc...

22 mm in 3/8" is odd, unless its impact.... chrome usually ends at 19 mm or 1".

I just use pegboard and cut dowels to size. This takes a lot more time than buying socket trays. But you can custom make it to whatever size you want.
