i just did drylock on approx 1/2 of my basement walls.

oh the joy of painting with stuff thats the consistancy of warm peanut butter. :lol_hitti

3/4 of my basement is living quarters for my mom.
she has macular degeneration in both eyes, not able to drive or work, and with only her SS she can no longer live on her own.
the other 1/3rd of the basement has my 12x20 reloading/hobby room, laundry/boiler room, and bathroom.
we store xmas decorations under the stairs, camping gear is in another small room with the water softener.
just about everything else we had stored down there is getting garage sale'd next month

Good on you for taking care of your mom. Be good to her.

Ours is the wife's sewing room on one half and 2-car garage on the other half. One bay holds the remnants of my wife's clothing alterations business equipment/supplies and 2 freezers. The other bay holds our Mustang II resto project and tools. It is past due for getting rid of the excess sewing equipment/supplies and cleaning. We also use our basement to take shelter from the tornadoes that frequent our area, especially today.

fishroom.jpgMine is currently used for my wifes business. It is full of about 75 fishtanks, from 10 gallon up to 225 gallon. She imports and sells aquarium critters - micro fish, shrimp, snails etc. Getting ready to build her a "fish hut" building so that she can expand and we can finish the basement for more living space. Pictures kinda small, but it's all I've got at the moment. Oh, and moisture hasn't been an issue, and you can't tell there is that much stuff in my house. 2 big dehumidifiers running full bore 24-7, with a 3rd for backup in case one goes down. The only issue so far has been the electric bill. :shocking: Youch!

Theater, Weight Room, Lounge, Bathroom, etc.

Here's a crappy pic of my theater. Instead of stepping up and then down, when I had the home built I sunk the foundation for the theater down 1'. We then framed in a curved tier for the first row of seats and fill the tier with sand to help with the sound of the two in-wall sub woofers. The projector is hidden in the backside of the arch you see. All equipment is in the huge room next to it all run by IR repeaters. No lights or fan noise from the equipment :). I have a pretty sweet exercise room and lounge area down there, but I don't have any pics of them. I'll get my garage pics up in a while.

right now it's mostly storage, but there is an 18 x 13 room that will become the "loud" room, combination theater room and guitar room. there's another 13 x 13 that will be the lounge/game room, remainder will be storage, laundry, and utilities.

One room is a theater room (best money we spent), another is a sauna / bath / shower, and the main area is a bar and game room.
Cool in the summer and warm in the winter, just right.
