Maybe I missed this subject, but I have the usual G1 and G2 markings on sockets and some that say simply G or V or VV. Hard to search one and two letter subjects.
What does G1 and so on mean on Craftsman?

More info:
Newer Craftsman tools also include a two digit code for the year. AA was 2011, Z was 2010, AB is 2012 and so on.

Thank you. Good information. Now that I see many codes are extended to 2011, they mean absolutely nothing to me. I know some of my tools are much, much older and some are fairly recent. To not be able to distinguish amongst them other than wear makes the codes useless.
