What does this symbol mean? 🌞

I've seen this a few places lately. I find nothing googling for it. What does it mean?

Basically it seems to mean summer. It is a Sun with a smiley face.

I get them on my phone when somebody sends me a smilie or whatever from their smartphone. Bascially my phone doesn't recognize the "langauge."

It's a rectangle box with 01F 31F in it. How do you get a sun smiley from that?

Something like makes sense. It's a winking smiley, because that's what it looks like.


The given answers do make sense in the context in which I've seen that symbol though.

I think I'm getting an idea. This attached picture is what shows on my computer, both where I've originally seen it, and where I pasted it into my posts in this thread:

To some people who might have the necessary font installed (some of you posting in response, even), then it might still look like whatever emoji thing it's supposed to look like, even though to me it still shows up as 2 rows of 3 characters in a box?

Thanks. That explains everything, including that this must have looked like a very dumb question to anyone that has the necessary font installed.

That being said, does anyone know what that symbol is? Is that a font error, or just something getting incorrectly assigned to some random symbol?

Yes, yes it did. Browsing on my phone and the smiling sun was showing up. Took till about post 8 where someone actually posted an image of the symbol to realize what you were on about.
