What Equipment needed to maintain Epoxy Floor ?

Hi, Excited to get my garage floor epoxy coated with flakes this week. Would like to know what type of mop, broom, or anything else I will need to keep it looking nice. I have read that Ammonia is good to use as a cleaner. I'm new to epoxy floors so any help would be great ! Thanks !

Besides the occasional hose out, I'll wet it down with the hose, then Simple Green and a broom and rinse. Pretty low maintenance for typical garage use.

I won't recommend any cleaning products to avoid pointing you in the wrong direction, but for my unflaked floor this floor squeegee has been awesome for pushing water and snow out the door. If your floor (with the flake) is smooth enough to squeegee, I'd definitely grab one

What about mopping, is there a special type of mop most used ?
I think I read Simple green 1oz to a gal. is that correct ?

Use the dust head for quick dry mops. For deeper cleaning use the microfiber pads. Dip them in a solution of 1 gallon warm water to 1/4 cup ammonia. No rinsing required. It will clean the floor and not leave a residue. It works well for 95% of your cleanups.

Hi Ralph,

I clean up oil with a bit of Simple Green and paper towels, then sweep and mop with clear water and a string mop. Three years in and the floor still looks great. I elected not to do flakes after working on cars at a friend's shop. He has a flaked floor, and heaven help you if you drop a small screw. It wanders off to join the missing socks and 10mm sockets.....

Most standard mops work well. We find that Simple Green or Purple Power works well as a cleaner.
