What era GENERAL Self Centering Drill Bit Case

Can anyone guess what era this General Drill Bit Indexing box might roughly be?

I looked around for information on its patent number (2.269.237) to no avail.

I always guess, if it has a patent number on it, it usually within 20 years after the patent date. Then go to catalogs.

Not always true, a few people put the patents on forever, but a good start.

I believe it belongs to Mr. Bernard Leonard Polkosnik.

Applied in 1940 and Granted in 42.
