What floor when steering while stationary?

I'd love to get some type of flooring in my 3 car garage, ideally some sort of easy to install/replace tile like racedeck. However, we have a pull through bay with doors offset from one another and a trailer out back. So a few times a month there's a truck half in the garage turning its wheels while not moving. This will tear up the racedeck from the floor, right? I assume coatings would also get damaged fairly quickly. Am I wrong, missing an option, or am I best to just leave the concrete alone?

Polish and wax that bay. We've polished and waxed most of our main plant floors where there is equipment traffic. None of the coatings they have tried over the years, lasts long with a lot of tow tractor, forklift, golf cart and trailer traffic on them. Pull up any public photos of the production line and you will see that anywhere a tow tractor can go, it's simply polished, and everywhere they can't, is epoxied.

I'll have to look into it. Its not new concrete but there's stains and whatnot, but no physical damage. Might be just the ticket, thanks for the suggestion.

I have had racedeck in my garage for about 12/ 13 years. While I don't have offsetting doors, I never had an issue when backing my boat trailer in and torquing the wheels, so to speak.

Interesting, I was under the assumption that it'd grab the tiles and pull them across the floor. I'm only basing it on a YouTube video I saw where that happened though. Expensive to find out first hand though.

It depends on the tile brand. The more premium ones are less likely to spin.

I'm in a similar situation. I need to back my car into our 2-car detatched garage as my side is directly behind the house. The offset from the driveway forces me to perform a 'S' shaped turning process to get in and once in the garage I'll usually have some final wheel turning to straighten out while not moving much. Have g-floor mats now and they buckle, stretch, and tear after years of use.

Shea: how will do the Truelock HD flow through handle this?

I think they would perform fairly well under those conditions. That particular tile is a private-labeled brand from a premium manufacturer. However, I would give them a call to discuss your situation. Every situation is different.

The Swisstrax Ribtrax Pro also performs well under those conditions. We rarely hear of them spinning loose. We currently have them in our garage, and I've made some hard turns with a 4500 lb. truck and off-road tires without issue.
