For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed about having a garage like the F1 teams have. She who must be obeyed, the keeper of the purse strings, has granted me a boon. My Christmas present this year is that we get to go to our home builder, and tell them, "We want a house." Our down payment will finally be large enough to move to the nicest section of town, something we've been wanting to do for years now. Naturally, all I care about is the garage. So, can anyone tell me... What kind of flooring do they use in the Formula 1/WRC/etc garages? I'm looking for something like the following pictures:

And, while I'm at it, has anyone ever set up a U-shaped workspace like in the VW rally car workshop in the first two pictures? It looks like it'd be an amazing place to work, but I can't really picture it with a set of stairs and a door in the background like most garages have.

It looks like epoxy-coated concrete to me. Take a look in the flooring section of the forum for a lot of good examples and ideas.

One place I worked had a white floor in the main shop area, that was done with a shake on additive in the concrete. It was very durable as it was part of the pour itself. A friend of mine has it in his garage with the concrete polished and it looks like a pure white floor just beautiful. He's a concrete guy so cost to him was not an issue.

I believe what you are looking at is industrial expoxy coating , this stuff cost hundreds of dollars a gallon . It tuff stuff , the last place I saw it used was ice mtn bottling and they were not into anything cheap. It didn't scratch or mar from fork lifts or any motorized equipment from my observations.

Urethane over epoxy with a logo from a sign company. Materials available from us if you need an estimate.

Definitely NOT hundreds per gal . Lol
