I agree with you about the bike fad being on the way down. About 4 years ago, three custom bike shops opened in our area. Two closed this past summer and the third closed down about a month ago. Two of my friends wanted custom choppers but after seeing the price tag, $25,000++, they opted for metric bikes, a Honda and Suzuki.

For car shows:

Top Gear <- The most entertaining car show
Dream Car Garage <- Closest US show to top gear, not quite as entertaining as Top Gear but still cool
My Classic Car <- Dennis Gauge and that mustache are damn cool.

For garage shows, the old Trucks with Stacy David(?) was the only one watchable. I want a show that shows how to do something in the real world, not some pimped out studio shop. For example, I think it was Two Guys, they were going to show how to rebuild a rear end, which could be some great information for the average home mechanic. They had a guy from Moser on to show how, but rather than provide some tools or proceedures the average guy could use, they used special jigs that Moser built in their shop....

You can sure tell that the bike fad is waning. "Biker Build-Off" is gone and that weird producer they had (Hugh King -- aka "Chopper King") :lol_hitti is now producing a "Tatoo Wars" show (akin to the old BBO theme). What a crock!!!

Jesse James pretty much started the craze with the "Motorcycle Mania" and "Monster Garage" shows, but even he got sick of it and pulled the plug. He saw it coming and got out early --

I don't watch anymore; I just go in the shop and do something useful.

I like all of the automotive programs that you all have listed allready, and whenever I am not too busy for tv, I get to watch a few of them, but my peave is when some of the shows (American Hotrod, OCC, etc.) turn into more of a soap opera than a gear show. I don't care how so-in-so feels about the new guy, or when so-in-so is mad at so-in-so in the shop. Just focus on the important stuff, like the car or bike you're building. More gears, less tears! That's the good thing about Powerblock. They are there to build cars, not make ratings. Build the cars and the ratings will come. Overhauulin is a neat show (Foose has got the skills we all want) but half the show is about the prank, not the car. Ever notice how the first 30 min. of the show is 20 min. prank, and in ten minutes they allready have the car back from paint? Lets see more bondo, welding, and mods than fake cops talking to the mark about the "crime"!

I keep the TV on out here more for background noise than anything else, but it's always on either History Channel, Discovery Channel, A&E, Speed, National Geographic, Spike, Science Channel, or Military Channel. There's always something interesting or a documentary of some sort, and I enjoy "Build It Bigger", "How It's Made", "How They Do It", "Extreme Engineering", etc.
