I have an old Craftsman electric drill that my Dad bought when he returned from Korea. He used the snot out of it, I've used it for years and it's finally just wore out. I can't get myself to toss it. Even if I could find someone to repair it, the cost would be more than the cost of the drill and I have other drills that I would use more often. He also gave me his C-man tool box that he bought at the same time. I use that all the time (it's my "pick-n-pull" junk yard box)

15mm pedal wrenches every year
5m tape measure evey two years
cheap plastic mm calipers ( perfect disposable tool for the abuse they take) once a year

Bicycle mechanics are under paid severely and have major tool maintenance bills, this is why the good ones work weekends as neutral service mechanics for a minimum of 4x their regular pay.

I have worn out the box ends of 2 craftman wrenches... 10mm and 13mm. I used the you know what out of those wrenches almost every weekend for like 3 years. They eventually began to slip on worn fasteners.

Ray;

If you have an electric motor shop in town take it to them and let them have a look.
I have two of my Dad's old Milwaukee "Holeshooter" electric drills, I kid you not they'll rip your hand off if they bind and you don't let go...
Both had worn out brushes, I think, and the local electric shop which has been in town for 50 years, had them running like new overnight. I can't let stuff like that go either.

Me, I wear out #2 Phillips, every once in a while a 12 pt. socket will fail, usually when I am applying max grunt to it and I wind up on my **** as it breaks.

it's a shame but it's called planned obsolescense. i have a pair of my fathers wiss snips that are close 50 years old and they work as good as the newer ones i have bought.

I'm with ya' Krusty. I also have tools from my father that were purchased in the late 40's and early 50's. They still function like new. On the other hand, I have similar tools that I purchased in the 80's and 90's from reputable US manufacturers, and they feel like they are 50 or 60 years old.

I have worn out some combination wrenches. 5/16", 10mm and 15mm. They were Snap-ons.

The same with sockets. Some name-brand, others no-name, mostly 12-point.

The only thing I wear out these days are #2 Phillips bits.
You worn out snap on wrench??!!
Never saw...do you have pictures??
