What happened to my thread?

New to this board and I haven't figured out how some of the posting features work yet. So I started a thread in the Test Section to see if I could embed photos and such.

But my thread disappeared. What gives? Isn't that the point of the Test Section?

it was deleted by one of the Mods as it looked like you were post padding. test section is just that, a test area ... post padding just to get your numbers up is frowned upon

Test padding? WTF? I have a dozen posts in three days. Is that too much? What's to be gained by post count? I have nothing to sell. I was just trying to learn how to post a damn photo and figure out some of the formatting things. Seems like a bit of over-moderation to me.

I thought the point of this board was DIY, home workshops and vintage tools--all topics I'm interested in. But if excess posting is a concern I'll keep my posting to a minimum. Sheesh.

I often post a dozen times in 3 days. Some guys post a dozen times every day.
Some guys post things that don’t make any contribution at all in order to “pad” their post count so that they can get past the minimum number to sell things on the classified section or I suppose, just for ego. When you get to 100 postings, you get to graduate to “senior member”. I don’t know of any benefit to that, but that’s how it works.

I deleted your thread as it appeared to be post padding. Considering your comment about gaining and a count down to be able to post pictures.

Make your posts productive and they'll stay. Make random worthless and the thread will get edited or deleted. We don't do politics, religion or drama.

Fair enough. I didn't realize my tinkering around with post formatting stuff I was post padding. :shrug:
