What have I got here?

So a retired buddy pulls these out tonight to show to me. Says he's had them for 30 years and never knew what they were or what they were used for. Took them to his 'retired machinist club' last night and no one had a clue as to what they were. So now I bring them to the GJ community.

There is a logo on one for 'The Red-E Tool Co. Bridgeport, Conn #109'

Here are some photos. The arm is some sort of cam lack against whatever shaft is in the hole.

Those appear to be "Quick acting cam action grinder dogs"
At least according to orca machine tools website.
Otherwise I have no idea
