What have you done with your drill press, let see them

hello everyone. i'm in the home strech of finishing my garage and was looking for some inspiration on how to store (hide) or mount my bench drill press, i would love to see what everyone else has done with there's.

Nothing fancy here. Mine's a floor model and it sits on a base with flip up wheels so I can pull it out a few feet when I need to. The roller cabinet under my press is where I store all of my drill bits and "things to make holes with".

i just leave mine by the wall, its happy right there. haven't don't anything to it in 30 years, its a tool, its doesn't deserve a wax job, its a tool

Mines currently bolted on the end of my workbench, it will get moved when I get the workshop end of the building sorted out but it works for now. I might have to knock a few bricks out of the wall next to it if I want to drill anything long though! (the wall is going to go eventually anyway)

One of the best ideas I saw was somebody using a 7 drawer end cabinet from HF (http://www.harborfreight.com/7-drawer-red-end-cabinet-for-roller-tool-chest-68785.html) under a bench top drill press. Seemed like a brilliant idea to me.

Hey... That's my idea for my floor model.

Bought the cabinet a few weeks ago but haven't built the rolling base for it yet. Had been waiting a long time for it to go on sale.

I'll have to post pics when I get it done.

I've had mine like this for about 15 years.


On a side note. It's a Delta 12" drill press and the "zeroing" mechanism has ceased working. Is anyone famiiar with what could be wrong? One day it worked and some time later I went to use it and it wouldn't work.

$189 near me. They recently had a coupon for $179 I think if you can find one.

Try looking at a Sears Outlet. Sometimes you'll find a better cabinet at a better price than what you'd find in the store.

Not to hijack, but what is a good size drill press to have that's pretty versatile? I was thinking at least a 10" one would be good for a small shop.

I've got a 12" Delta tabletop and for what I use it for has only once come up short. The next step would be to get a "radial" for me.

That one looks like a good size. Bear's looks similar in size at a 12". I guess I'll be on the lookout for a 12" one.
