I'd like to see pictures of things you guys have made. Doesn't have to be anything really big or complex as long as you did it yourself.

I know quite a few members have running threads about their projects. I would still love to see something from you guys that you're especially proud of.

I'm most proud of a wine rack I built several years ago and a home theater I built in an extra bedroom of my previous house. Somehow I managed to lose the pictures I had of the home theater but I do have some of the wine rack.

It's made from mahogany and figured maple plus some ebony for the drawer pulls and tenon wedges. I hand cut the dovetails and the mortises.

My ugly drum smoker (UDS)

Started with a clean barrel.

Made the charcoal basket using hog rings to hold everything together

Painted. I use refrigerator magnets over the holes in the bottom to control temperature.

The first subwoofer I built, sitting in the corner of the home theater room before the trim was painted dark to match the walls. It was replaced pretty quickly by an infinite baffle setup using four 15" subs mounted to a baffle in the attic firing down through the ceiling.

Nice. I want to get a project car within the next year or so. Just can't decide what I really want. Will probably be a t-bucket or a Cobra kit. But I would also really like to build a gen one Camaro/Firebird or a gen two Camaro. I'm a big fan of the gen two Camaro with the split bumper.

If you ignore the reloading press you can see the workbench I built. Solid core door with a frame around and under made of Douglas Fir. Really solid and the Veritas Twin Screw Vise was great.

I left it at my house in Texas after moving to Tennessee a few years ago. Now I really regret not bringing it with me.

mostly a mess, but also kitchen cabinets, motorcycles and parts

Cool. I wish I had the setup and skill to do machining on metal. I did a fair amount of MIG welding on cars when I was younger. Haven't even done any of that for the last 20 years.

Modded my old wagon for the grand daughter.

A set of nightstands for our bedroom.

Toybox for the granddaughter.

and plenty of other projects.

She looks pretty happy with that wagon. My favorite out of those is the nightstands though.

I don't think there is enough picture
space for all the things i've made, and
that would probably go for a lot of other
members too.

I have no doubt that's true. I wish I had more pictures of stuff I've done.

Just looking for some highlights. Anything you made that you were especially proud of when done?

i'll spare the woodworking projects as they are done in the woodshop, not the garage.

here's a few mediocre projects I've made.
HF bead roller - inspired by a thread on the HAMB.

my meat grinder from scrap furnace motor, flea market grinder, yard sale shelf, and garbage steel frame and training wheels.

forge from tire rims, pig roaster from fuel oil tank, smoker from water heater, little deer blind stove from scrap pipe,...boiling devices from milk cans and kegs...bead roller (2).jpg

Wow, every bit of that is cool.

Are those "boiling devices" useful for converting some liquids kinda mashed together with others into steam then condensing back down into a separate container? I've been wanting to build something to do that type of thing, on a small scale, myself.

I love the big and little red wagons. I actually had a modified '56 wagon given to me when I was 15 years old. That was about 1987. It started out as a four door but had thee rear doors cut out then the back in scooted up and welded back on to make it a two door. Had a 350 CI smallblock and a 4 speed. It would pull the front wheels off the ground, because of the weight distribution. It was maroon with flames and may have had the same wheels as yours. Are those Cragar five spokes?

The picture below is just one I found on the internet but the same thing was done to it as to mine.

I crashed the hell out of it when I was 16 years old.

I did everything myself except pressing the bearings on the axles. After they screwed that up, I got a press. Did all the bodywork, paint, interior, glass work, wiring, engine build and everything else right there in my garage.
Looked like a TV Meth lab with all the plastic walls and vents out to the back yard.

Really nice work. One of my favorite Mustang body styles too.

That is awesome!

My first car was a 65 convertible, sadly I sold it back in the 1998 when my wife and I bought our first house. I've really been missing that car, and have been thinking of finding a project car. Looking at those pictures, you might have made up my mind for me.

Now to contribute to this thread. I posted this in the fabrication thread, but i'll post it again. This is my rig for home brewed beer. I have since painted it.

Knocked a couple more items of the Ramcharger punch list today. Started with the trailer plug wiring, had to replace the pinched wires and shorting four plug head. Then I hooked up a new vacuum line for the CAD front axle, so now I have my 4X4 back. Finally from this.View media item 53500

To this in just a few short years:D:D::scared::scared: But its is rolling:3gears::3gears:

Built a custom fitted fiberglass subwoofer enclosure for the trunk of my Mustang. Can't figure out what I did with the finished pictures but I'll find them or snap a few new ones.

I've never really gotten into the 4WD thing. If I ever win the lottery one of the things I will build is a buggy style crawler though. But there are about 10 motorcycles and 10 cars that would come before it.

mostly a mess! I'm really good at that!!
A lot of work on my wife's 454SS pickup. http://www.rcktpwrd.com/Annies454ss/496SS.html
A bunch of work on her Suburban, sometimes I work on my PT Cruiser. Lately I have been doing a lot of soldering and wiring work for our Christmas display. And general tinkering.

One of these days I will get back to working on my Cutlass...

I agree, nice pony...and that's a lot of work!

Wow, pretty ambitious!
Did you ever figure out how to keep the window switches on the door panel from buzzing????:headscrat

Just recently, I made a very small table mount stand for my antique belt sander.
attachment.php

It use to be on an old bulky stand that took up too much space.

I also made Wagonwerx, a collection of vintage old toy coaster wagons.
Currently I have 14 in the collection, with about a dozen restored.
