Ran across a lady needing gas money to get home wanting to sell some tools. Being the nice guy I am...I took a quick look at what she had. This was all stuck down in an old bucket....long story short....I got it all for $22.00. I don't think I got hurt.

I didn't mean to be gruff nor discount your great score.
I do weekly outdoor fleas during the summer and only see one or maybe two deals like that a year.
I have a professional female neighbor that love to purge garage clutter and if she had an ex with tools like that in a bucket I can see her taking $20 bucks as she does not have a clue.
On the other hand most folks know tool worth unless trying to flip something they were gifted and have no knowlege about or were taken unknowingly by someone and trying to be sold for a quick buck or a quick fix.
Heck, last week at nite a car was reported to be broken down in a remote area only to be a robberly scam for the poor good samaratin that stopped to help. Was knocked out from behind and his car gone thru and all valuables taken.
As for addicts, I had a former neigbor with a daughter and bf that stole and pawned or fenced every nice piece of electronics, tools or jewelry in the house for a fix over time. She stole her sisters xbox and countless items. The father told me to never ever ever let the daughter near or in my house. I believed it.
I see buckets of tools found when folks move and purge, get evicted or leave storage units up for auction. I also see many of the "found" buckets appear in various ads and areas.
Not implying or infering anything.
Deals that are too good to be true normally are in my "decades of life" world.

Pretty much a hodge podge there. I see tools like that at the flea for 50 cents to a buck each. She might have missed the Craftsman and some others, but for a quick bulk take it all sale, it was in the ball park. Who's to say unless they have the tools in front of them?

Well..I watched her go across the street and put gas in her car...but enuff of that. In the mix was a Mac box end, a couple of gearwrenches, several old Husky's, a P&C , some Craftsman and other assorted brands. The sockets were a bunch of Craftsman, some SK along with some no name. A few Stanley screwdrivers..a pair of Excelite mini needle nose pliers..etc rounded it out.

Call me a sucker, but seeing the gas actually go in the car would have made me feel a lot better.

Sorry to Thumper for the skepticism on my end.
I've lived in many cities in the USA, a few abroad including London and have been to all but two of the continents.
It's just my nature to notice when good deals seem way to good.

She wouldn't have gotten as much at a pawn, etc. I know I would have passed under normal circumstances because I can get as much/better quality elsewhere (I'm cheap) so I'd say you both got a good deal.
