we had that a few weeks ago. buddy's friend works for the team, everyone gets it for a few days, take it to the bar, show it off, take pictures doing weird things with it...you don't want to know where that's been, trust me...pics not appropriate for the forum...

I talked with Phil Pritchard, one of the Cup escorts, and he had some stories about what has been in that cup.

So what's the deal with the ******? I can only imagine the things they have seen done with the cup. But when do they step in and say "That's over the line" or if they think someone might damage it? Are they literally with the cup 24/7?

:dunno:

The rule I found was interesting and would not have known:

It's Bolt's job to ensure the safety of the Cup and make sure fans follow one simple rule. They can touch the Cup, kiss it, drink from it (but only if a player is holding it) and take photos with it, but they aren't allowed to lift it over their heads. That is reserved for players who have won it and the occasional friend or family member

There may have been a few violations at my place...;)

One of the years the Red Wings won the cup, one of the players took it to his tiny little hometown somewhere in Canada.
