I'll be using 2" EPS under the garage floor slab, but I need to heat about 1400sf of driveway in front of it. What insulation should I use there? How would I insulate the sides of the driveway, since they'll be exposed to dirt, grass, bugs, etc?

Thanks,

Mark

A bunch of variables here.
What is the frost line in Litteton?
What is the water table?
How are you going to turn the system on and off, and when?
If you are on well drained soil, I would go with the same 2"
Don't worry about the sides, you aren't doing anthing efficient anyway.
But I would try and find a local guy that knows the variables in your area.
I would be concerned with some thermal shock if you hit with a fast warm up.
The heated sidewalks I have seen are turned on in Sept and turned off in April.
But they are on 20 story buildings.
