At work my main use for a 27mm wrench is to loosen the tie rod end jam nut when doing alignments on older Tesla Model S vehicles.

I had a chance to get into the tool box this morning and remembering my old 650 motorcycle and at the time, the great dude in the rented apartment below mine (long gone now auto accident not long after that) He was working as an auto mechanic right out high school and he had a load tools so gave me a 12pt shallow INDUSTRO 1-1/16" socket (26.9875) which is for all purposes will cover 27mm needs.

I still have that socket today and memories now...it's what got in long run

Bolt head sizes, if they fellow the pattern, they don't always, + 1/2 the bolt diameter = headsize. or 18 + 18/2 = 27

Well if you are in the roughly 90% population, as a 1" wrench...

LOL it's too close to call-

27 Millimeters =1.0629921 Inches

The closest is 1 1/16 inch wrench (it’s 0.012 smaller than 27mm)

I think I have half a chopped down 27mm spanner from the 1990s to remove radiator fan switches on European GMs, had to cut it as it was too long for the application

27mm wrench/socket is used for the transaxle cradle to frame horn mount of air cooled VW Type 1 bugs, Things, Ghias, and Type 3s.

Working on motorcycles, I use 27mm fairly often. Common M16-M18 bolt head/nut size.

I've had a couple Yamaha's that used a 27mm socket to remove the nut on the front sprocket.

Thank you! Please keep it coming!

No update on my side. Offered the person 61% (to round to the nearest $) of the brand new price; the owner wants 87% claiming that because it's old, its worth more (came down from 130% which he originally asked after I sent him the links; the design did nto change.). Sounds as a reseller as he clamed that he bought it 20yrs ago, but it's probably 40-50 y.o.
Will post it if I succeed (I think given relative rarity of size and inconvenient location he will drop the price (I have a friend who lives in his area and will pick it up for me)...
Will recheck with him in a week
