What is a drill "T" type. (I.e. T22 or T23)

I noticed that some jobber drill bits size #1 - #60 were labeled type T22.

I then noticed some job or drill bits #61-#80 are labeled as type T23

My ability to search the internet and figure this out is failing miserably because it keeps defaulting to torx bits. And when I look for drill bit of type T it gives me all sorts of other information not related to this.

So what is this type system? And any reference material I can look at.

My assumption at this point is that the types are specific to the manufacturer. I am surprised at how many drill sets contain the T22 (or similar) and they may use the word Type, Series, Style, etc. Consider the Triumph Twist Drill catalog:

Looks like they have lots of "styles" such as T22, T23, and T123 are really referring to the box configuration in which the drills are shipped. So, all T13 styles have 13 bits and T123 will have 115 bits.

Looks like T23 refers to the 61-80 size set

T22 is the 1-60 set.

I don't think it's a bit type, but a set size range, I found Triumph and one other brand with that nomenclature.

This looks like one of those times where an abbreviation or secret code was invented that didn't need to exist.

I mean, how hard could it be to just say "Blah through Blah set, provided in a blah blah blah type of box."

And I was confused because I think I saw like three places that listed t22 for the jobber 1-60 and t23 for 61 to 80...

But in retrospect, they were probably just rebranded triumph drill bits so they probably took the nomenclature from them... And then I overthought it
