What is a underlined script Snap-On 3/4" drive socket set worth?

So I was allowed to do a "pre-sale" walk in a shop.

One of the things that caught my eye was a 3/4" drive 12 pt. Snap-On socket set.

I think it includes 3/4" to 2 1/4" sockets, ratchet head, flex head, handle, several extensions, etc.

Looks really similar to a 34 piece sets they sell new.

Underlined script Snap-On logos in decent shape.

I found 2 sockets and 1 extension that were not Snap-On.

I already have a nice Wright 3/4" set and I rarely buy things to re-sell, but when the new set is selling for $2,000 and this item is tagged at $200?

Ok, I would probably just keep the set, but anyone want to make an educated guess as to what a set like this would realistically be worth?

Thanks,

GD

sorry, no pics

sale starts in 3 days

depends on if you're willing to take the time to split it up. there is definitely money to be made there

If the exact items you have, in today's prices, add up to $2000, and they are in nice shape, I'd put em on ebay for $600+by weight shipping. Have fun packing that up though. To do it securely would probably take me an hour

Note: do NOT auction that. Small demand, high cost = soft bidding. List it for 25-40% it's new price, depending condition, and wait for the guy who needs a good set. He'll save a bundle vs new and you'll make some money.

3bay, trout, Boiler - thanks for the input, I just don't want to be snap happy and buy just because I can, to many "good deals".

Somehow my Snappy collection seems to keep gaining depth and breadth...

3/4" stuff doesn't have a huge demand like 1/2" drive and down does. Most regular mechanics have little use for the stuff. Only medium and heavy duty truck guys use it.

The older Snap-On 3/4" sets have a thinner bar than the new ones, they flex more. Not as desirable.

I'd say its worth $200 if you want to buy it. Don't really expect to be able to resell it very quickly if that's what you want to do.

I just sold the 27 piece set from 1946 on eBay for $450. It was in unreal shape (most pieces were never used) but I wanted a quick turnaround. I felt I could have done better by parting it out. Not bad profit for $60 pawn shop find.http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/16/y8eqybab.jpg[/IMG
