What is best height for AC/Heating unit?

A friend gave me a combination AC/Heater unit that he bought at Sams. He wasn't sure the heating part worked but the AC worked fine. I am going to do a temporary hookup first to see if everything works. Anyway my question.

I am going to do a fixed wall mount it (it mounts like a window unit) but was wondering if there is a preferred height. The floor to ceiling is around 9'

Thanks

IDK if there is a proper height -
but I put mine a little over 5 feet off the floor - that way it wouldn't take up wall space so I could put a workbench or stationary power tools there.

I also have a remote control so you don't have to reach it, and I can deflect the vent so it isn't blowing in my face if I am standing right in front of it.

The unit was pretty easy to install at that height.

Depends where the return vent is on the unit as well as how the unit discharges air. Up high, is better for ac, down low is better for heat.
