Came home from shopping tonight and found this on my porch from a friend. He dropped it off hoping I could ID it. Don't have any background on it. Beer can for scale.

I've seen similar clamps that are used to align pipe sections before **** welding them.



That was my thought as well, but wasn't sure.

Edit: we have a winner! It is a Pipe holding clamp. I found a similar one on eBay.

**** welding?!? Some of you guys can weld with your butts??? Impressive!

Why not? We all talk out our butts. :bounce:

Back on topic, I **** weld exhaust tubing when fabricating custom exhaust systems. I've made similar pipe alignment clamps by cutting windows in the band type exhaust clamps. Lets you tack the sections in place, remove the clamp, and finish the weld.
