I've had it forever and never seen one anywhere else. i guess i am well armed now if i run into a rusty tail pipe! :)

I sometimes run into a very similar sort of chisel. It is for cutting brass/bronze bushings, and usually has a symmetrical curve at the cutting end. The action is the same, cutting a section out of the wall of the bushing cylinder to release the contact force and enable removal.

I was able to first identify the use by looking up a Herbrand number I found on a chisel in their catalog.

I find them very effective for their intended use.
