what is it ? brass threaded tip

from a toolbox I picked up a while back. It is brass, is threaded, but not all the way to the tip. It has what appear to be owners initials stamped in several places, but no other marks.

It looks sorta like a mandrel for a buffing wheel. Maybe for watchmaking or jewelry.

Jewelers use those, but it’s actually the left side mandrel from a “dental lathe”. Look up Red Wing Handler.
