Another find from my boxes at the make King estate sale. Assuming it is something engine building related. F.A.Maxwell co. Bedford. Also has engravings of 1", cutter face this end, 9-5-47.
It looks like either a boring or a recessing head that would be used in a boring mill or other machine tool. Close up clear photos would help to figure it out.
