Craftsman machinist toolbox. 20x13x6. No dents or dings, no rust, drawers glide freely. Just dusty and old.

I have two questions:

1. What should I pay for this?
2. If I get it, should I paint it Craftsman red?

Thanks.

Looks like it’s been spray painted by the looks of the latches and lock. I have one like it that’s light blue and paid $40.

IF it's usable for you - I gladly paid $50 for same box in the brand I prefer. IF for resale half that or a bit more. I have three boxes in this configuration- very useful for sitting by the drill press.
It all depends on whether you're buying to use or resale. I've done well on both.

HTH, YMMV, all that ****.

Well, I did buy it. A few hours with a wire wheel, deep cleaning with mineral sprits, a roll of rubber liner, a new lock and a can of hammered finish spray paint and it turned out really pretty.

Is that the kitchen table? That looks like something I would do. Looks good now load it up with older Craftsman tools.

Yes, kitchen table. I brought it in to take pictures. It is back in the garage now filled with drill bits, cutters, blades and router bits.

Passed on a similar box for $8. at a yard sale on Fri. The front to back depth of those boxes annoys me to no end.
