I’m thinking about selling my Mac tool box that hasn’t been touched in 10 years. The only defect is one of the drawer handle has a dent on it because by accident back into it.

What would be a good asking price?

People don't have money right now. Everything has shot up as much as 50%. Sometimes you don't notice that loaf of bread that used to be on sale for 3 dollars something once a week is now five+ all the time. Those that make the shameful big salaries aren't shopping for used tool boxes. It's a tough time to sell anything.

Time is your friend here. Eventually the right person looking for blue and has cash will show up. Might take a month, might take 3 dozen. Ask what you want knowing that a smoking deal will be picked up in a couple days if not hours. Ask what it's actually worth and you own it forever.

I've been trying to trim down and half goes for cheap and the other half gets tossed. I've got a $600 (new) Keurig Rivo FS for 55 bucks. Boat anchor. Hardly used as I hated cappuccino.

I am in low 70's. None of my nieces, their husbands, or my nephews have any interest in the things my generation, or my fathers' generation collected. That age group made up most of the buyers in prior times. Add to it people find recreation in different ways today. I'd look in CL and FB, at when the ads were placed and what price, then price accordingly. It may be worth more to you than to someone else. Or if the right buyer is looking you might hit a home run.

Yeah, unless you need to move it quickly either for the cash or space I’d list what it’s worth and see what happens.
I’m in a similar boat, I’ve got a nice Jensen telecom hard sided case with a few hundy in tools. Haven’t touch it except to move it out of the way in a good decade.
It’s been on eBay now for going on 1.3 months. I know what it cost me in time and money to put it together so there it sits.

Just be patient.

You can always lower your price while you are in negotiations, but raising prices during negotiations will most certainly be a deal breaker.
