What is it?

Bought this at a garage sale this weekend thinking it was a center punch, no idea what it is upon closer inspection. It's ~1/2" round and ~6" long, the tip has wrench flats and appears to be a alloy (maybe beryllium? it looks the same color as some beryllium studs I have at work). There are no markings on it anywhere.

So any ideas?

Might be a clutch aligner.

looks like a transfer punch. There are different tips for different sized holes. It marks the center of the new hole in the same location as the old one.
