It is a decelerator valve adjusting tool for Saab, Pinto and Capri. You're welcome.

Awesome, no wonder I have no idea what it is. Here in KS there are about as many of those cars as there are unicorns.

That is not an excuse, I've never touched a Capri, yet I figured out what it was. Just another case of someone not wanting to put in the effort and shoving it off onto someone elses plate. Which 2oolhound and I solved for you.

Is that your ebay ad?

No its not. I don't sell on Ebay. I just seen it while browsing and wondered what it could be for. I appreciate the info but you don't have to be smart about it. I thought this was a forum for gaining and sharing information and tool discussions. I may have been wrong.

But how is that not the truth? So many times on here people ask questions they can easily solve themselves in a few second google search. If you just would have said thank you. I would have left it at that. But instead you had to try and make an excuse as to why you didn't know or couldn't go out and do a search on your own.

That is an excuse, and a piss poor one at that IMHO.

And I really hate when people try to make excuses to protect their ego. :dunno:

If I didn't want to be bothered I wouldn't have taken the time to post the info.

So do I, leave the poor fellow along Zkling...you probably don't know what some of the stuff other guys use simply becuase we all work on different things.

But see here is the thing I didn't say that at all. Infact I did quite the opposite. I took the time looked it up and posted it for the OP. No problem. What irks me is when people try to make some far fetched excuse as to why they don't know what or how to. It just boils down to protecting ones ego. Had the guy just said thanks and good to know that is fine. But the effort was made to make a off the wall excuse.

I often wonder what some of the folks on here are like to work with. Expecting hand holding 24/7. I just get tired of people that expect others to do their work for them without effort put forth on their part. Especially those that try to profit off of it. Hence I asked if that was his ebay ad.

I agree wih you on much of this, but is it really his fault if he has never encountered one of those cars that the tools was needed for?

I don't think he ever intended for you to google it, just wanted advice from someone who knew off the top of their head.

Don't let some people get under your skin, I have asked many of times, what is this question, Some people just fell the need to bullie people on the net, being it is faceless, Most of the time that is their only way to make people feel that they are smarter then you are.... Some people.... I am too old for this childish ****...Rich

Wow, guys I provide useful information, solve a guys problem, yet I get chastised for it. I love it.

It has nothing to do with being "smart", or "stupid question" or "stupid answer". However it has everything to do with ambition, effort and making excuses to protect ones ego. And that is really the underlying issues at hand here. Which seems to be a recent plague here on the forum.

Some of you, young and old alike must have had a very nice candy ***, hand holding up bringing, where you could count on others to solve your problems. I on the other hand, learned at an early age that if you have a problem it is your problem and your problem only to solve. Should someone help you that is very nice and generous on their part, but don't count on it. The only person at the end of the day you have is yourself. So you need to do everyting you can on your own to solve the problem first. YMMV.

I was not trying to make an excuse or cover an ego. I was simply trying to carry on a conversation. I did appreciate the prompt response with my answer. I could have googled it myself sure and probably found something. But it would be a whole lot less fun than trying to spark up a conversation about this seemingly uncommon tool with other tool lovers. As for your thank you I would have been more apt to sincerely thank you if you hadn't have put a snobish "your welcome" at the end of your response. You are the one bringing up ego and if you ask me saying "your welcome" and the end of an answer is condescending right off the bat and reeks of ego.

Sorry, but I think you guys are being WAY to hard on ZK. I also think a little effort is in order before asking easily answered questions, and if he did happen to be an Ebay seller looking for other to provide information for free, I have NO sympathy for the person. that is profiteering pure and simple.

You can also look at it this way:

The OP posted this:

The snap on site has nothing for that part number. I don't have the slightest idea what it could be used for.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Snap-On-Tool...41e974&vxp=mtr

When he could have posted the PN in Google (far simpler cut and paste) and had an answer with a fraction of the keystrokes, or maybe not, and THEN ask the question. (some are not as good at finding a good search term; nothing wrong with that...)

Maybe he just wanted to start a conversation? :dunno:

But here again ZK was right, he got his answer and a simple "thank you" was in order. not a reason why he didn't know. (Both would be OK..)

Internet bullying? That one cuts both ways guys... Re-read your own responses...

I admit, I was wrong on that regard. I made an incorrect assumption off the batt. I thought that was your ebay listing. Recently I've helped folks ID something just so they could go to ebay and profit, without my answer they wouldn't know what they item was. Non even a thank you did I get.

So yes I apologize, I made an assumption that was incorrect.

Sorry, but I think you guys are being WAY to hard on ZK.

Thank you Outlaw, at least someone will try to put out my fire at the stake.

Really? I didn't see it that way at all: thicken up that skin son, you are reading too much into things. Did you see the thumbs up? If he was being the *** you imply, it would have been the double finger...
