What is this air tool?

It looks like some kind of expander. The tip is tapered, so I don't think it is for PEX piping. It had a clear hose attached to the rear tube. One of the markings on it is "Made in Western Germany", but no mfg info.

Anybody recognize this.

Yep, tire studs. I spent far too many hours with one of those in my hand working at Firestone as a younger than I care to remember.

That is for installing tire studs for winter driving. One said tire plugs but that is not right. That is for the carbide stud with an aluminum housing. The studs come down from a feeder that puts them in order as it rotates then drops them in the clear tube you mentioned.
