I'm having a garage sale this weekend and putting out a lot of tools I don't need including this box. Any ideas on what to ask for this without the vise?

I believe it is a Waterloo I bought from MSC. It's a lot newer than the box.

Well, assuming the above, if I was putting that on Craigslist, I'd ask about $250 for it, expecting to get $200-250. I could tell you more if I saw it up close.

If you expect to sell it at your garage sale, you're going to have to be prepared to take a lot less. There's not going to be many people that show up to your sale in the market for something like that...think maybe, MAYBE 1-2% of the people that show up. And they're not going to want to pay you much for it. You'll do much better on craigslist getting close to what it's worth.

EDIT: thinking about it, 1-2% is probably low, maybe very low...but most won't want to pay what it's worth. I know I expect to get stuff dirt cheap at garage sales.

"Forgot to ask...how wide, tall, and deep is that Snap on box? Any idea how old?

Assuming everything is friction slides?"

It's a Williams box I bought in about 1979. It has friction slides, dims are about 30 wide, 41 high and 19 deep.

I agree with the garage sale theory, so I am advertising it as a tool sale in the newspaper and on Craigslist. I have a lot of other tools and equip to go.
