I was just doing some cleaning and was about to pitch this thing. I gave it a quick look and noticed MAC 32550 in small print on the handle.

How long is it? I can't seem to find it in any of my Mac books, but looks like a tool my dad made to remove jack stands from underneath vehicles after they have the weight removed from them.

That would be a little short for what I thought it was. dieseltech might be right, I have looked through most of my Mac catalogs and can't seem to find it. Very curious tool right there.

I actually own the MAC tool for installing serpentine belts (MAC SBT57900P) and that is not it, my belt tool looks like this. If you change a belt from below on a motorhome, this tool is invaluable.

It came in there door lock set. For getting in locked cars.

That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it also. You just slip it through the weather stripping of a wing window, over to the latch and flip to open.

Makes me think of the old days when pickup truck had vent windows. Probably work better on the Chevrolets because many Fords had a button to depress before the latch could flip. Now that I think about it though later on Chevy came out with the lock button also.

The again I could be all wrong too. :lol_hitti

Good old days lock-out tech: '70 Nova, slam-to-lock doors, and me the absent-minded owner. Locking car with key inside was easy, and I had to carry an extra key. Did not trust little magnetic boxes, etc., under car, so I kept my magnetic spare key box in the air cleaner under the non-locking hood. Not very secure.
I soon realized that the dipstick, readily accessible to anyone, could be thrust past the vent window to flip the handle of that to get my arm inside, OR it could be thrust down past the main window and would easily jigger the actual lock from there! I could now put my entirely absent mind at ease. My spare key went inside the car, and with the dipstick I could enter the car at will with regular key locked in or with key entirely lost so I could use the spare.
Hey, If I had been bright enough to shear off the tumblers in the car's pathetic GM locks, I could have just used the dipstick to work the door and ignition and...

Mummification tool.

It's a modern version of the ancient Egyptian method, whereby you thrust the tool up the nose of the deceased, crack through the cribiform plate, then scoop out the brains. Ready for the afterlife now.

I made a tool like that to break into my Bronco through the vent windows! I guess I'm not the only one who figured that one out.

I made that serpentine belt tool out of metal antenna.

all i need to get into any car is a pliers. Take off the metal antenna mast, pry open door a little, wedge it into there and unlock the door lol
