Hey all

I am wondering if any of you might be able to help me out. I went to an auction and decided to buy this thing for whatever reason. No one was going to buy it so I got it pretty cheap. I just have no idea what it is other than a precision grinder is what the tag said. It is made by Brown & Sharp.

I plan on bartering with a buddy of mine for some welding I need done. Just trying to figure out what it is worth and also what does it do?

Holy crud, that's a great looking surface grinder. What did you pay for it? I'd have snapped it up in a heartbeat.

As noted, a Brown & Sharpe surface grinder used to produce a precision high quality flat surface on metal. It is a rather specialized machine tool and unless you do that type of work it may not be of much use to you.

B&S machines were among the best in their day and one found today in good shape or in rebuildable condition is certainly capable of producing fine work

I think the arrow on the cover is just a suggestion..... [emoji23]

Every surface grinder I have ever run, ran clockwise facing the spindle?
The wheel mount has a left hand thread and will loosen if going counter clockwise!:scared:

This is a machinery dealer demonstrating the machine. Probably has the phases wrong on the 3ph supply. Who ever said a machinery dealer knows how to run machinery. I am also surprised something bad didn't happen.

That was a long time to wait to find out what happened to the surface grinder. Also must be a good friend.
