What is this "nut" called?

So I'm restoring an old shopsmith, and the threaded one of these "nuts" is stripped. I'm going to make a new one myself, but I was actually just more curious what it was actually called, and if they were commercially available?

Im leaning towards it being called a clevis, but I've found no matches for it under that name. On the manual its referred to as a "lug", but all I get are pictures of lug nuts on google.

As you can see in the picture is basically a square nut with a stud on it.
Anyone have any ideas?

Mmmm I would call that a "machined part". :D

Its sort of like the cross-slide lead-screw nut on a lathe but I'm guessing V- threads and higher (more) internal backlash to keep it easy-running/easy-turning.

Likely not an off-the-shelf part and have to roll your own.

If I were going to build it, I think a nut(or 2 if there is room) welded to the top of a shoulder bolt would fix your problem without a lot of fuss.

I am going to assume that you have a Shopsmith 10E or 10ER possibly? If so, Shopsmith doesn't carry the parts. And again I'm assuming that the nuts that you are looking for is pictured in this photo? If the two places below doesn't carry the parts, then they will have to be custom made unless you possibly run across some parts on Ebay. I hope this helps you out somewhat.

Great info Kevin!

If that is the part one side is left thread and the other is right thread. The pitches look different as well so you have to be careful which side you need.

And from what I researched, there are no replacement parts. Gonna be a little bit of a challenge for someone to machine it (them)
