No SPECIAL application IMO. Just a general gear/pulley etc puller.

I say hub puller also, looks like the jaws have bolt holes that the lugs go through and you put hte nut back on to pull on the lug while pushing the center hub/spindle off.

looks similar to a hub puller i have that belonged to my dad.
seems like mine is a 2 leg/3 leg

he bought it when he was doing rear brakes on a late 50's/early 60's dodge or plymouth.

I used a J&J hub puller on my dodge pickup and it worked great. I bought at jandjhubpuller.com.

The jaws are reversed is why it looks so strange. Would only work with even number of lugs 4,6,8 would not work on 5 lug hubs at all.
