Hello
Grabbed this 1/4" x 2" extension out of my toolbox and found it is not in fact a 1/4" extension - it doesn't fit.
Stamping on tool (Made in USA Snap/on -1 M2)
Any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks @macaxis - are these rare or just an older sizing?
The piece doesn't look all that old.

Not rare really, some of the 9/32" is hard to find. Many folks call it 5/16 drive because 9/32" drive makes no sense.
30's and 40's, lots were made during WWII.
There should be a date code symbol stamped on it to date it.

We ended up with one at work that was between 3/8" and 1/2". No idea the story, ended up tossing it.

I think that uncommon drive sizes are perfect for government contracts. The tools would probably go missing at a much slower rate.
