FWIW, Rose Plastics typically makes those tubes in various plastics.
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is often chosen because of its transparency. But plasticized PVC will attack some other plastics and is not really “archival”. Polypropylene (PP) isn‘t as transparent, but it’s durable and plasticizer-free.
I’ll always choose PP over PVC.
I’ll also usually get the kind with bumps that let the container go on and off “straight”. They seem to work better for me than the screw on-off kind. The screw type always seem to work loose on me. The bump kind stay where they‘re closed to.
